With all these changes in our weather one might start to believe that this climate crisis everyone is talking about is real. We can argue over the causes and what to call it but the truth is, our climate is changing.

Many say the drastic changes we’re experiencing in our weather are due to an imbalance in carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in our atmosphere.

Whether or not this is true, the fact remains that we are putting A LOT more CO2 into the atmosphere than can be naturally processed by our planet at its best. To add insult to injury, we are destroying the lungs of our planet as if we don’t need to breathe.

I like breathing and I choose to continue doing so! There is a call to action being heard everywhere; a call to do whatever it takes to restore balance and insure that we have a planet to leave to our children. I invite you to answer the call to action and encourage everyone you know to do so also.

Many suggestions have been offered and while it’s true that “big brother” needs to take massive action, it’s also true that we as individuals can make a huge contribution to the clean up efforts.

There are a lot of little things we can all do that together add up and make a big difference. Simple actions like changing your light bulbs, turning off your car when you’re idling for more than a minute, planning your route to drive less, carpooling (I know, but it really helps), wrapping your water heater to conserve heat, changing your AC filter, using less water (remember, it also takes electricity to clean the water), and so many more great suggestions are easy ways to help. Although they may seem trivial, multiplied by millions of people, it adds up and contributes to the healing of our planet.
